Reminder: All structures within a settlement have to look good.

Useful things to know before building a settlement:

  • The settlement must look good, at least as the standard buildings of your faction generated by the mod
  • Recognized Settlements are multiple types of structures for each faction that have to meet the required requirements.
  • Each faction has different settlements, some can be used for colonization, not all recognized settlements can be used for colonization.
  • There are 2 sorts of settlements; colonisation ones and major settlements. Colonisation settlements refer to villages, outposts, colonies, etc. Major settlements are castles, cities, towns, etc.
  • The maximum allowed number of recognised settlements within a province is one colonisation settlement and a major settlement. Always, a major settlement needs its own colonisation settlement to be recognised.
  • The structures used as settlements will be functioning for example: armies, resources, economy.
  • When two different recognized structures are close to each other, the difference between the two must be clearly noticeable.

Note: Two rec. structures may stay next to each other but they should not lose their distinctive traits, therefore we must clearly notice where the castle starts and where the village is located, or where the city instead took place.

  • Villages, Colonies or Encampments can become Cities, Forts/Castles or Strongholds when they meet the requirements. Note that this only allowed IF the province the village is in does not already have a city, town, fort, castle or stronghold.
  • After recognition, each settlement (of any type) needs to be added to the Kingdoms Holdings page with complete info, otherwise it won't be considered valid.
