The Commonwealth of Rhovanion, officially known as the Commonwealth of Greater Rhovanion, Dale, Greenwood and the Vales of the Anduin and otherwise known as simply Rhovanion or The Commonwealth is a federation to the north of Middle-Earth with three constituent states. The Commonwealth borders Erebor and the Dwarves to the north, the Misty Mountains and Lothlórien to the west and Dorwinion to the south and southeast. Rhovanion was formed after a joint agreement by King Bard III Barding(Styled King of Dale, Rhovanion and the Bight) and King Thranduil II(Styled King of Greenwood and Amon Lanc) to unify under one banner: That of a united North.

In VA 140 the Beornings sought and were given entry under King Thorbeorn II(Styled King of the Beornings and the Vales of the Anduin) marking a period of growth for the Commonwealth itself.

The Commonwealth encompasses many ethnicities and peoples, most notably the Barding Dalishmen, Silvan Elves and Middlemen of Rhovanion as well as the Beornings of the Vale.

Their main trade partners are Durin's Folk, Rhûdel and Dorwinion; they are enemies with none, but have made numerous non-military agreements with the regional powers.

The capitals of the Commonwealth are at the cities of Felegoth, Esgaroth and Baerenburh for the Woodland Realm, Dale and the Beornings respectively.

Empire Structure

Administration Section

Centralized. Imperial enemies, wars and the like are decided by one faction de facto. This is outruled by the Council of Kings who have full decisional powers over the Empire themselves and cannot make decisions on their own in de jure fashion.

Ruler Section

Non-Elected Council of Kings. The Empire is headed by the sitting Kings of its respective member factions and if so would happen, their successors. Together they enjoy full decisional powers within the Empire.

Volunteers Section

Volunteering disallowed. Members of the Empire cannot volunteer against their own Imperial factions or allies thereof but are in their neutrality allowed to fight for any side they please through independent volunteering.

Rules and Laws

1. All factions within the Empire must respect the mainland of each faction, if a faction is found in the process of breaking this rule it is more than reasonable and to be expected that their newly gained territories are taken away. Exceptions can be made if agreed upon by the Council of Kings.

2. Colonization or conquest of mainland considered to be held by factions outside of the Empire must be discussed and agreed upon by the Council of Kings.

3. Colonization of neutral territories not considered mainland are allowed to be colonized as long as doing so would not break any active Imperial treaties. If a faction is found to be breaking this rule it is once again expected that they get said territory taken away from them.

About wars and raids

1. Only kings can declare war through the Council of Kings.

2. Wars against factions WITHIN the Empire are ALWAYS prohibited.

3. Any raid against a person considered an ally is completely illegal and can have consequences for the raider involved. If one is found to have done this nevertheless they have to pay up 100k in compensation.

4. It is completely upon the player him/herself to decide to return or not to return the loot won in wars and/or raids as long as there are no beforehand agreements made that requires them to do so.

Council of Kings

The current Council of Kings consists of the following members representing their respective constituent states:

  • Bard III (Remaclus) representing the Kingdom of Dale as of VA 139
  • Thranduil II (Batzgamer) representing the Woodland Realm as of VA 139
  • Thorbeorn II (Yggdrasil030) representing the Kingdom of the Beornings as of VA 140
